PARENTS OF AUTISTIC CHILDREN OF TEXAS Proudly presents our third year for Trainer of Trainers Program The Trainer of Trainer (TOT) model program for school districts provides training to assist teachers and other school personnel in learning teaching strategies that are based on peer reviewed, research-based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This training also includes: Year long training in Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior for selected staff members. Small group learning to assist school districts in training teachers to effectively work with children on the Autism Spectrum. Providing educators with hands on experience utilizing scientifically based teaching techniques and strategies proven to be effective with this population. Full day lectures, handouts, and video models. Staff assigned application homework of data collection and videotaping of themselves working with students Staff present their assignments and receive feedback Collaboration between behavior analyst and administration to choose staff that will move on to TOT Level 1 Advanced or begin co-training in the TOT Level 2 in preparation for becoming the district’s own trainer. The training provided in the TOT Program follows the Autism Supplement guidelines and provides an invaluable training to the staff who work tirelessly to educate our children. Deadline for Registration August 31, 2010 $965.00 POAC TX reserves the right to cancel the classes 3 days prior to start of class if class does meet a minimum of 25 students. “Trainer of Trainer” model:
Founded in 2006, POAC's mission is to improve the lives of children and adults with autism by providing scientifically-based training to parents, teachers, and other direct service providers. By providing targeted and sustained, research-based training for Texas teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, and related personnel that work with children with autism and other developmental disabilities, POAC has a vision and goal to help public school districts “home grow” their own experts.
